Bryan Hulbert – DODGE CITY, Kan. (July 7, 2023) Adding two more names to the list of winners with the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division on Friday night, the superstars of small cars took on the eighth-mile-oval inside the Dodge City Raceway Park with Jude Allgayer back in Victory Lane for the second time this week, while Cole Esgar and Ace Moore each landed their first wins.

Outlasting the onslaught of challenges from Brant Woods in traffic for this first NOW600 A-Class victory, Colorado’s Cole Esgar led all by the opening lap Friday night.

Getting by the No. 83 on the second lap, the final two laps were a green, white, checkered dash to the finish, with Woods missing the win by 0.192-seconds; however, the Chickasha racer failed to appear at the scales post-race, forcing a disqualification, and advancing Ryder McCutcheon to second. Chance Cody crossed third, with Kaden Weger and Carson Bolden making up the top five.

Met with roaring approval, Dodge City’s Ace Moore topped a back-and-forth battling with Weldon Buford for his first NOW600 Non-Wing feature win.

Able to work back into the lead after the pair traded the point on lap six, seven, and eight, the No. 49a pulled away by 0.893-seconds at the finish. Buford held onto silver while tenth-starting Ryder McCutcheon posted his second podium of the night in third. Skyler Burns and Jaden Holder completed the top five.

Getting to the lead first thing, it was Jude Allgayer posting his second NOW600 Restricted win. Stalked through most of the race by Ty Fulghum, the No. 73 unfortunately retired on Lap 23. Moving Carson Bolden to second, the No. B2 couldn’t mount the charge on Allgayer. Braxton Weger was third, with Cash Lacombe fourth and Callan Hill in fifth.

The Steve King Memorial continues Saturday, July 8. Gates open at 5:00 P.M. with racing at 7:30 P.M. (CDT). Tickets are $20, and free for kids 12 and under. Pits are $35.
