EMERSON AXSOM TAKES HOME FOURTH GOLDEN DRILLER WITH TULSA SHOOTOUT OUTLAW VICTORY!

Bryan Hulbert – TULSA, Okla. (December 31, 2023) Taking home his third RS12 Motorsports Outlaw triumph and fourth overall, Indiana’s Emerson Axsom grabbed the lead on Lap 16 and never looked back at the 39th annual American Waste Control Tulsa Shootout powered by NOS Energy.

Chasing Cody Key through the first third of the feature event, Axsom took charge and kept pace through the rest of the 55-lap event. Winning by 1.722 seconds, the race for second through fifth was a fight to the line, with Jake Hagopian taking second in his final Tulsa Shootout appearance. Shifting line to the top, Joe B. Miller grabbed third by 0.034-seconds. Cody Key slipped to fourth, with Thomas Kunsman, Jr. crossing fifth.

248 drivers took part in RS12 Outlaw competition.

The total for all classes was 1,698 confirmed entries out of 1,752 received. A total of 368 races were contested during the 2024 edition of the Tulsa Shootout, including 3,494 green flag laps. 709 Drivers from 42 states and five countries (USA, Aust. Can, Neth, NZ) participated in the 39th Tulsa Shootout.

Three drivers added their names to the list of winners, as Wyatt Miller topped Restricted, Ashton Torgerson took A-Class, and Braxton Flatt won Junior Sprints. Frank Flud moved is total to five, with Blake Hahn sitting at nine.

The American Waste Control Tulsa Shootout takes place at the Tulsa Expo Raceway, located inside the SageNet Center in Tulsa, Okla.
