Pro Alcohol Drag Racing (PADR), proudly announces its adoption of the 2024 FIA Drag Racing SFI Specification Listings. This decision comes after rigorous evaluation and input from Top Alcohol Funny Car Teams from across the globe involved in the new racing series.
“With the rules package we are moving forward with, the FIA – SFI Specifications made sense for our organization,” said Kevin Hool, founder and Director of operations for the PADR.
“All the SFI Specifications were examined by the FIA. I believe the updated listings reflect the advancement in both materials and design of the primary components used in Drag Racing. Many components used in Alcohol Racing are much better today in both performance and safety. It made sense that the listings were updated by the FIA to reflect those advancements,” Hool Said.
The SFI Specification list for FIA Drag Racing was updated with a number of changes for the 2024 Season following a decision of the FIA World Motor Sport Council (WMSC)
The World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) has responsibility for all aspects of International Motorsport. It meets at least four times a year to decide on rules, regulations, safety, and development of Motorsport at every level from Drag Racing to Formula One.

All the changes to the SFI Specification Listings have been thoroughly discussed and reviewed by the FIA Drag Racing Technical Work Group and subsequently approved by the FIA Drag Racing Commission, which consists of representatives from various Organisations involved in Drag Racing Worldwide.
The FIA Drag Racing Commission plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of drag racing worldwide, with responsibilities spanning rule formulation, safety standards, and the overall development of the sport across 147 countries and five continents.
PADR’s decision to adopt the 2024 FIA Drag Racing SFI Specification Listings underscores its unwavering commitment to safety, innovation, and expanding opportunities for Supercharged Methanol Burning Funny Cars now and in the future.
