After another successful season, the Clio Cup Series now sets its sights on 2025. Last Friday at the prize-giving ceremony at La Piste Bleue, the organisers confirmed the 2025 calendar and format for a new campaign that promises to be more intense than ever.
On Friday, the Clio Cup Series’ enthusiastic community gathered for an evening at La Piste Bleue, Alpine’s Le Mans-based experience centre. Italy’s Gabriele Torelli was presented with his trophy, as were the winners of Clio Cup España, Clio Cup France, Clio Cup Italia and Clio Cup Mid-Europe, to the applause of their competitors. The various class winners were also honoured for their hard-won titles.
The 2025 calendar confirmed
The ceremony was also an opportunity for Groupe Signature, promoter of the Clio Cup Series, to outline its plans for a stable 2025 season.
Spearheading the single-make cups since 1991, the discipline has again demonstrated its appeal, with a field that was more than ever a mix of quantity and quality in 2024. Buoyed by this success, the organisers will keep nine meetings and eighteen races so competitors can continue to compete across Europe with Clio Cup, a product renowned for its performance, reliability and affordability.
As tradition dictates, the season will kick off in Nogaro before heading to Dijon, a new destination for the fifth-generation Clio Cup. Then, the drivers and teams will head to Spa-Francorchamps before a summer paced by a return to Imola before Misano and Magny-Cours. After the summer break, they will return to Valencia, which is also back on the calendar, before the final sprint at Circuit Paul Ricard and Monza.
A consistent racing format
Like this year, all rounds will count towards the Clio Cup Series, while the regional groups (España, France, Italia and Mid-Europe) will be in action at five rounds each, thanks to carefully designed cross-referenced schedules to ensure competitive grids.
All meetings will consist of two 30-minute free practice sessions, two 20-minute qualifying sessions and two 25-minute plus one lap races to maintain a highly favourable track time. Points will still be awarded separately for each round, with drivers eligible to compete in a maximum of two series.
The Juniors (23 and under with no major track record), Challengers (over 23 and under 45 with no major track record) and Gentlemen (over 45 with no major track record) categories will also return. All will continue with a 25-18-15-12-10-8-6-4-2-1 point scale, plus race bonuses and end-of-season prizes, which can be added to those won overall.
A virtuous framework
Attentive to the needs of its clients, Alpine Racing’s customer racing department and Groupe Signature will continue their efforts, with the support of their partners, to offer a favourable environment for all Clio Cup participants. In particular, they will continue to benefit from the unrivalled sporting and technical fairness at this level of the pyramid to ensure that all participants can fully showcase their talent.
These are the hallmarks of the best-known single-make cups, which will also feature an attractive prize system, with drivers and teams competing for a total prize fund of over €270,000 throughout the season. The 2025 Clio Cup Series title-winner will also take home a brand new Clio Cup or half a season in the Alpine Europa Cup to kick-start their ascent up the Alpine GT ladder.
