“Two top-ten finishes for the rookie in Florida”
March 18, 2025 – Kicking off his first full season in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America series, Tyler Maxson delivered a performance that included a pair of top-ten results at the Sebring International Raceway. Competing with TOPP Racing and securing two top-ten finishes in his series debut, Maxson will shift his focus to the second event weekend in his quest to be a winner in the very competitive series.
Maxson immediately made his presence known by qualifying sixth in his first official qualifying session of the season, setting himself up for a strong start in the ultra-competitive field. In race one, Maxson battled against some of the top sports car drivers in North America, ultimately bringing home a solid eighth-place finish. In race two, the series rookie built on that momentum, climbing to a sixth-place result, proving he is a contender in the highly competitive championship.
“My first weekend in the Porsche Carrera Cup North America was a great experience,” explained Maxson. “The competition is fierce, and the racing is intense, but I feel like I adapted well and learned a lot. TOPP Racing gave me a great car, and I’m excited to keep building on this performance as the season progresses. I’m already looking forward to Miami and taking another step forward.”
Maxson’s next challenge will come at the Miami International Autodrome, where rounds three and four of the Porsche Carrera Cup North America will take place May 2-4, running alongside the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix. The event will provide an exciting opportunity for Maxson to showcase his skills on a prestigious international stage.
With a strong debut under his belt, Tyler Maxson and TOPP Racing are already proving to be a force to be reckoned with in the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup North America season.
