Hot off the heels of the largest F2000 grid in recent history, Formula Race Promotions (FRP) is pleased to announce an add-on prize money program for FRP’s next event, set to take place April 27 – 28 at the famed Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course: the F2000 Major Money Madness at Mid-Ohio. FRP will hand more than $7,500 in cash and tires to encourage F2000 drivers to bring their cars out and help bring together the largest grid of F2000 competitors seen anywhere in quite some time.
“We had a great showing at our opening round this past weekend with 12 F2000 competitors, and we are hoping to increase that number with some ‘Cash On The Line’ in April at our Major Money Madness at Mid-Ohio,” explained Bob Wright. “We are inviting everyone who owns an F2000 car to come join us — be part of the strongest and largest F2000 grid in 2024 and try your hand at winning cash.”
Saturday’s racing action will be a tune-up for Sunday’s larger purse, but the winner will receive $1000 for his or her efforts with $600 going to the runner-up and $400 to the driver who rounds out the podium in third. The “6th-place sucks” award will also bag a cool $400 cash as will the race’s Hard Charger, the driver gaining the most positions from where they start to when the checkered flag flies.
Sunday will see the purse increase with $1500 on the line for the winner and $750 for the second. Paying out the top-five on Sunday, third place will receive $500 with fourth and fifth earning $400 and $300 respectively. The Hard Charger on Sunday will also receive $500.
Wright continued, “Thanks to our good friends at Hoosier Tire, we will have three drawings for two tires in each drawing that will be given to random winners throughout the weekend.”
Regular FRP entry requirements still apply, with a ten-entry minimum for full payout.
“Our goal is to assemble the biggest and most competitive grid in F2000, show the racing world what a great class F2000 is (also known as FC) and we can do this at Mid-Ohio,” added Wright.
Registration is now open.
