WITH A SHOT AT AN FRP CHAMPIONSHIP – CAHAN RACING HEADS TO THE FINAL EVENT OF THE SEASON

“Gabriel and Ayrton look to finish 2024 on a high”

It has been a long and hard-fought season, and the 2024 Formula Race Promotions program will close this weekend. Heading to Summit Point Raceway, Cahan Racing will bring Gabriel and Ayrton from their New Mexico base across the country for the final time in 2024 as the duo looks for race wins, podium results, career-best finishes, and an FRP championship.

Leading the way into Summit Point will be older brother Gabriel who is currently atop the F2000 Championship standings with two wheel-to-wheel races to go. Separated by only 19 points to his closest rival, the championship will come down to the results during the final weekend of competition.

“I am very excited going into the year’s final round, but I am also a little nervous,” expressed F2000 Championship point leader, Gabriel Cahan. “I have been battling all year to take home this championship, and the points have gotten closer over the last few rounds, but I believe we can take it. It’s been a fantastic year, and I have exceeded my expectations throughout the season. I also feel very accomplished with this year as a whole. It was a big learning year, and that’s all the goal was supposed to be, but now we are going for bigger goals ending the year.”

As a rookie in the talent-filled F1600 Championship program, Ayrton Cahan has steadily and consistently improved his results throughout the season. Entering the final weekend sitting ninth in the championship standings, Ayrton has a legitimate shot to move up in the standings over the triple-header weekend.

Ayrton Cahan added, “It’s hard to believe that it’s already the final round of FRP. This season flew by. It was a great learning year, followed by a lot of challenges, but I am excited to see what the final round will bring us.”

The Cahan Racing Team will hit Summit Point Raceway this coming Friday as they kick off their weekend with practice. Qualifying will occur late in the day, with wheel-to-wheel racing throughout Saturday and Sunday.
