Fresh off a Formula Race Promotions (FRP) F2000 championship performance, New Mexico’s Gabriel Cahan is set for his USF Pro Championships testing debut. Inking a deal to drive in a USF2000 machine for the potent Exclusive Autosport at the USF Pro Championships Fall Combine, Cahan will see action at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway later this month on the weekend of October 19th and 20th.
“I am very excited and very grateful to be given the opportunity to test in a USF2000 car,” explained Cahan. “Being able to drive at the Racing Capital of the World is definitely on my bucket list. I look forward to working with Exclusive Autosport and seeing how the series works. My dream is to race in INDYCAR, so hopefully, this will kickstart my journey there.”
The 2024 FRP season saw Cahan make four trips to the podium’s top step, including wins at Road Atlanta, the Pittsburgh International Race Complex, and a double win at Lime Rock Park. Gabriel was one of the most consistent drivers in the series and, in the end, managed to secure the FRP title by five points over his rival and good friend.
Cahan continued, “I am not sure what the future holds for the 2025 season yet, but this is an opportunity for me to get in a different car, on a track that I have not competed at, and with a new team so I will soak it all in. I learned a ton throughout the 2024 season, and this test is an extension of growing my knowledge and experience base.”
Traveling to the Indianapolis area the week of the test, Gabriel Cahan will visit the Exclusive Autosport facility in Brownsburg, Indiana, before taking in the INDY NXT test on Friday, October 18th. With two days of on-track driving scheduled on Saturday and Sunday, Gabriel Cahan will look to build his test into a full race effort in 2025.
