Bryan Hulbert – TULSA, Okla (January 5, 2025) Five nights of racing, with every position counting towards Saturday, makes the Chili Bowl Nationals powered by NOS Energy Drink statistically among the most challenging events to prevail in, much less make the show, and the first draft of nights for the 39th running of the worlds greatest Midget event have been released.

Subject to change by the day, the current list of entrants sits at 371, which ties it with 2023’s final entry count, and is just nine shy so far of 2024. Drivers from 35 states, five countries, plus five event champions are set to take on Tulsa Expo Raceway clay from January 13-18, with two Chili Bowl Champions already picking up Golden Drillers this past week during the 40th annual Smiley’s Racing Products Tulsa Shootout.

Grabbing two wins in Outlaw and A-Class competition, Kyle Larson went full send on a third against Christopher Bell during the night’s 55-lap Outlaw Non-Wing championship event with every angle of attack imaginable, with the race coming down to a photo finish with Bell prevailing.

Setting the standards and expectations at the highest level for next week’s Chili Bowl Nationals, last week’s Shootout is not the first time the two NASCAR veterans have battled for a Golden Driller, as Bell denied Larson his first Chili Bowl triumph with a last lap pass in 2019.

Always an interesting mix of feature starters, event rookies, and talent from across the racing spectrum, each night offers its own unique set of challenges. Ask anyone who has raced it will tell you there is no easy night, and you still have to race them all again on Saturday.

As of January 5, 2025, the nights sort out like this:
