SHELL V-POWER NITRO+ PARTNERSHIP FOR TOMMY SMITH’S 2025 INDY NXT SEASON

Australian racer Tommy Smith is excited to announce a major deal with Shell V-Power Nitro+ as the primary partner for his 2025 INDY NXT by Firestone season with HMD Motorsports. The recently confirmed program marks a significant milestone in Smith’s career as he takes the next step in his motorsport journey in one of the most competitive open-wheel racing series in the world.

22-year-old Smith, who is transitioning from European FIA F3 to INDY NXT, will compete with the two-time championship winning HMD Motorsports program in INDY NXT by Firestone, the official development series for the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. The partner program will see the Shell V-Power Nitro+ brand take prominent placement with it’s globally recognized colours on Smith’s HMD Motorsports Dallara IL-15, further solidifying the collaboration between the Australian driver and the global energy company.

“I’m excited to have Shell V-Power Nitro+ as my primary partner for the 2025 INDY NXT season,” explained Smith. “Shell is synonymous with performance and innovation, and their commitment to advancing both motorsport and technology aligns perfectly with my goals on track. Having such a prestigious partner backing me is a huge confidence boost, and I can’t wait to represent them in every race.”

Shell V-Power Nitro+ is the brand’s premium fuel, formulated to maximize engine performance and efficiency.

“We are excited to have Tommy Smith race with us at HMD Motorsports in what promises to be an exciting 2025 INDY NXT season,” explained Team President Mike Maurini. “Tommy’s ambition and competitive spirit make him an ideal fit for Shell V-Power Nitro+, and we’re looking forward to supporting him in his quest for success. A new team, a new car, a new series, and new tracks will be a great challenge for Tommy, but we are confident in his ability and that we can assist him in his motorsports journey.”

Smith’s debut race in the 2025 INDY NXT season will take place on the Streets of St. Petersburg in St. Petersburg, Florida for round one, over the February 28 to March 2 weekend.
