The GM Driver is Looking Forward to New Adventure with Corvette Z06 Debut
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – AWA has finalized its driver lineup for the Rolex 24 At Daytona. British driver Alex Lynn will co-drive in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season opener alongside Orey Fidani, Matt Bell, and Lars Kern in the No. 13 AWA Corvette Z06 GT3.R in the Grand Touring Daytona (GTD) class.
Lynn owns a pair of victories in WeatherTech Championship competition – both coming at the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring (2017 and 2022) along with championship titles and race wins across a multitude of series. The GM driver is no stranger to the WeatherTech Championship paddock, with all of his previous experience coming in the top prototype class – most recently the 2023 Rolex 24 At Daytona, wheeling the No. 02 Cadillac Racing Cadillac V-Series.R in the Grand Touring Prototype (GTP) class.
“I’m really excited to be joining AWA for the Rolex 24 At Daytona in the No. 13 car,” said Lynn. “It’s also very special to be driving the brand-new Corvette Z06 GT3.R on its world debut and on the biggest stage in North American endurance racing. AWA has proven their credentials and shown that they know what it takes to win this race and I’m excited to try and add to that. I’d also like to extend a big thank you to GM for letting me be a part of this new Corvette adventure.”
The 2024 WeatherTech Championship kicks off with the Roar Before the Rolex 24 At Daytona from Jan. 19-21. Rolex 24 race week action runs Jan. 25-28. For ticket information, visit daytonainternationalspeedway.com.
