Oliver Westling Starts 2024 Winter Testing at Homestead-Miami Speedway

January 12, 2024 – Bright sunshine and warm weather greeted Oliver Westling and his JENSEN race team to kick off the 2024 race season with two test days on the road course at Homestead-Miami Speedway during the first week of January.

Driving the JENSEN team’s Ligier F3 race car that he piloted to two race wins en route to finishing fourth in the 2023 Formula Regional Americas Championship, the team worked extensively with Westling on tire testing utilizing the series specification Hankook F3 rubber.

Team owner and mentor Eric Jensen stated, “Oliver needed the seat time to keep his reflexes at their peak, and the Miami test days provided extensive track time to accomplish that goal. We also had a young engineer Dorea Dewberry interning for the week, so I took the opportunity to educate both Oliver and Dorea on the science behind cold versus hot tire pressures; including how the sidewall stiffness impacts grip level throughout sessions.”

Formula Regional Americas is the top level American junior race series on the FIA Formula One Championship’s young driver development ladder. 2024 championship is expanding with 21 races over 7 event weekends including the addition of the road course at the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway to the circuits visited.

Ligier JS F3 are the specification race cars used in the championship, powered by 303-horsepower turbo-charged Honda engines capable of top speeds nearing 160 mph.

JENSEN race team will continue testing at the Florida circuits in Miami and Sebring throughout the month of January, as well as training new drivers with our Racing Camp programs in Houston Texas.
