NITRO MOTORSPORTS CARRIES MOMENTUM TO ROAD ATLANTA

After a pair of podium results at the Trans Am Series Presented by Pirelli season opener, Nitro Motorsports is bringing another seven-driver strong lineup to the Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta this weekend. Set to battle in the TA2 class, podium winners Tyler Gonzalez and Rafa Matos will lead the squad into Braselton, Georgia as Michele Abbate joins for her first event of the 2024 season.

“It was a good start in Sebring, but we need to keep our foot on the gas,” explained Nitro Motorsports’ Nick Tucker. “With two drivers on the podium and several more in the top-ten, I think the target is firmly planted on us as the team to beat in the Trans Am series in 2024.”

With podium results at the Sebring International Raceway less than one month ago, Tyler Gonzalez and Rafa Matos will be looking to climb to the top of the blocks this coming weekend at Road Atlanta. Thomas Annunziata, who earned a top-five result in Sebring, will be looking for a podium finish in Atlanta this weekend while Ben Maier, who made one of the most talked about last-lap passes in Sebring to finish in the top-ten, will aim to start further up the running order, stay out of trouble and fight for his first win or podium of 2024.

Darin Mock and Cale Phillips will also aim to improve on their season opener results as they will be joined by Michele Abbate who is running a partial campaign in 2024. Absent from Road Atlanta will be Gio Ruggiero.

Tucker added, “We have a consistent driver lineup from race to race and that will prove beneficial in the way that our drivers work together both on and off the track. Additionally, we have Michele back with us this weekend. She is always a welcome addition to the team, and we look forward to helping her, and all our drivers, achieve their goals.”
